Man rescued from Tolka after jumping in to save his dog

He is currently being treated in hospital.

A MAN WAS rescued from the Tolka river at Fairview, Dublin this morning after he jumped in to rescue his dog.

The incident sparked a river rescue operation, with five fire engines, the Dublin Fire Brigade ambulance, and a district officer attending the scene.

Both the man and his dog were rescued from the river.

The man was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment.

The Sunday World reports that the dog hopped into the river to chase swans.
