Man shot in the face outside creche dies

The man was shot once outside a Donaghmede creche.

A 32-YEAR-OLD MAN who was shot in the face as he dropped his child off at creche last week has died.

Declan Smith was shot once outside Little Rainbows creche last Friday. The gunman fled the scene on foot.

The 32-year-old died in Beaumont hospital overnight.

A post mortem examination is expected to take place later today and will be carried out by the State Pathologist Professor Marie Cassidy.

The Garda investigation into the incident is ongoing.
