The 66-year-old man has been held for questioning for the last two days over the deaths of three women in the past 11 years.

A 66-YEAR-OLD MAN, arrested on Tuesday in connection with the deaths of three women in Dromore, Co Down, over the past 11 years has tonight been charged with two counts of murder.

He is due to appear at Armagh Magistrates Court in the morning charged with killing  47-year-old Michelle Bickerstaff in April of last year and 50-year-old Margaret Weise in August 2007.

He has also been charged with a number of other serious offences.

Officers are preparing a file for the Northern Ireland Public Prosecution Service in relation to the death of Elizabeth McKee (52) in December 2002, according to a PSNI spokesperson.

The man was arrested in the quiet market town on Tuesday morning, and officers were granted more time to interview him yesterday.

Since his arrest, the man’s house in Dromore has been painted with graffiti.

Police continue to appeal to the community in the area for more information about the deaths.

People can contact the PSNI 0044 28 38315339 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
