Cork gardaí seize €126k worth of cannabis resin

Four men were arrested in connection with the investigation.

GARDAÍ IN CORK have seized a large quantity of cannabis resin, with an estimated street value of €126,000.

The drugs were seized following the stop and search of two cars at Skehanagh, Watergrasshill, in Cork yesterday afternoon. Three men aged 41, 51 and 59 years were arrested at the scene and detained at Gurranabraher and Mayfield garda stations under drug trafficking legislation.

The 41 and 51 year olds were charged in connection with the investigation and released to appear before Cork District Court on Wednesday, 17 February. The 59 year old man was released from garda custody without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A fourth man, aged 30, was arrested in north Dublin and detained at Finglas garda station. He has since been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

Part of the cannabis seizure was discovered in a follow up search of a premises in Gurranabraher, Cork City.
