Drugs, gun and ammunition seized at Dublin house

Two men have been arrested.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested after gardaí seized drugs and a gun at a house in Dublin.

As part of an operation targeting the illegal supply of drugs in the Shankill/Ballybrack area, gardaí from the Dún Laoghaire district drugs unit, divisional burglary response unit and local detective units carried out searches on a number of premises yesterday.

Cannabis resin and prescribed drugs with an estimated value of €13,000, pending analysis, were seized at a house in the Rathsallagh area in Shankill.

A firearm, ammunition and a sum of cash were also seized during this search.

A 52-year-old man was arrested at scene and is currently being detained at Dún Laoghaire Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act 1996.

A second man, in his early 30s, was arrested today. He is being detained under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
