TWO MEN ARE due before court this morning charged in connection with the seizure of cannabis resin worth €600,000 as well as 40,000 prescription drugs.

The seizure was made on Saturday following an operation targeting the activities of an organised criminal gang in the Finglas area of Dublin.

Gardaí attached to the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau stopped a truck and a car at St Margaret’s Road in Finglas shortly before 7pm last night, when the discovery was made.

A total of 100 kilograms of cannabis resin and 40,000 prescription drugs were seized.

Two men, both in their 30s, were arrested at the scene. They are due to appear before a sitting of Blanchardstown District Court this morning.
