Man in court over half a million euro cocaine haul in Kilkenny

A 38-YEAR-OLD man is to appear in court in Kilkenny this morning charged in connection with a cocaine seizure valued at over half a million euro.

The drugs were found when gardaí searched a van in Jordanstown on Saturday evening.

The man was arrested at the scene and will face charges at Kilkenny District Court at 10.30am today.

Gardaí say that an analysis of the drugs is to be carried out but estimated that the street value of the haul is €560,000.

The operation, which happened on Saturday evening, was part of an intelligence-led investigation targeting drug dealers in the area.
