Dry cleaners gutted after dramatic blaze in Galway city

A MAJOR FIRE at a dry cleaners in Galway City has left the building gutted after firefighters fought the blaze throughout the night.

The fire at Shannon Dry Cleaners on Prospect Hill has been brought under control but dramatic pictures show the blaze moving through the building as onlookers crowded the city street.

Nobody is believed to have been hurt result of the fire.

The well-known dry cleaners was established in the 1960s and the company has four outlets around the country.

Galway Fire and Rescue had a number of units at the blaze last night and they remained at the scene until early this morning.

Roads remained closed in the area and it cause traffic disruption in the city this morning.
