Garda operations in Dublin lead to seizures of drugs, a handgun and ammunition

Two men have been arrested in separate operations in Coolock and Clondalkin.

A HANDGUN AND ammunition were seized in Dublin this morning as part of investigations into organised crime in the Coolock area.

A 19 year-old-man was arrested at the scene as officers searched a house in Priorswood leading to the firearms discovery. A quantity of cannabis a various drug paraphernalia were also seized.

The man is currently detained at Coolock Garda Station where he can be held for a maximum of 72 hours.

In a separate operation, and estimated €35,000 worth of cocaine was seized by gardaí from the National Drugs Unit in the Grangeview area of Clondalkin.

A 33-year-old South African national arrested at the scene is currently detained at Clondalkin Garda Station where he can be kept for up to seven days.
