Body recovered after car enters water at Dun Laoghaire harbour

The alarm was raised at 5.30am this morning.

A BODY HAS been recovered from the water at Coal Harbour in Dun Laoghaire after a car went into the water there early this morning.

A member of the public raised the alarm at around 5.30am this morning.

The scene was attended by gardaí, the Coast Guard and the RNLI.

A spokesperson for the Coast Guard confirmed the incident took place and that a major search operation was undertaken.

A garda spokesperson later confirmed that the person has been pronounced dead.

No further details are available as of yet.
