€20,000 in cash hidden in couple's clothes seized at Knock Airport

Officers from Revenue’s customs service now have a three month detention order in respect of the money.

OFFICERS FROM REVENUE’S Customs service seized some €20,000 in cash at Knock Airport yesterday when they stopped a couple who had arrived on a flight from Lanzarote.

The cash was found concealed in items of clothing in the couple’s carry on luggage.

It was seized by Revenue and officers were this morning granted a three-month detention order in respect of the cash in order to carry out further investigations.
