TENS OF THOUSANDS of people packed Dublin’s O’Connell Street today, stepping back in time to 1915.

The RTÉ Road to The Rising event was designed to Irish people that the Easter Rising “did not happen in a bubble”.

An extensive programme of talks and entertainment, coupled with warm weather, saw O’Connell Street packed as it was pedestrianised.
