Eight men arrested as part of investigation into dissident republican activity

The men were detained during a search of a commercial premises in Clondalkin.

EIGHT MEN HAVE been arrested in Dublin this afternoon in relation to suspected dissident republican activity.

The suspects, all aged between 24 and 50, were detained following a search of a commercial premises in Clondalkin at noon.

They are being questioned in various garda stations across the county under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

No firearms or explosives were recovered during the search, which was carried out by gardaí from the Special Detective Unit. They were assisted by national garda units.
