Eight-year-old boy dies after fall from bicycle in west Cork

Roan Harrington died in tragic accident on road just outside his home.

GARDAI HAVE NAMED the eight-year-old boy who died when he fell from his bike in west Cork yesterday.

Roan Harrington from Ballydonegan, Allihies on the Beara peninsula fell from his bike at around 5.15pm yesterday evening.

The matter is under investigation and gardai carried out a forensic examination at the scene near his home. However, no other vehicle was involved in what is thought to have been a tragic accident.

He was pronounced dead en route to Bantry General Hospital.
