Passenger taken to hospital after flight makes emergency landing at Shannon Airport

Air Canada flight AC895 was travelling from Milan to Toronto when it was forced to make the landing.

A TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT had to divert to Shannon this afternoon due to a medical emergency with a passenger on board.

Air Canada flight AC895 was travelling from Milan in Italy to Toronto, Canada, when it was forced to make the landing.

A spokesperson for the airport confirmed that the flight landed with a medical emergency after a passenger became ill.

The flight landed safely at about 2.45 pm and was met by ambulance paramedics at the terminal.

The passenger was treated by the paramedics at the airport.

They were then taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment following the incident.
