Videos: Enda Kenny got a fierce noisy reception from protesters in Cork today

Anti-water charge protesters greeted the Taoiseach at a jobs announcement in Blackpool earlier.

TAIOISEACH ENDA KENNY was subjected to a noisy protest by demonstrators gathered at a shopping centre in Blackpool, Cork earlier today.

Dozens of gardaí were in attendance with over 200 protesters estimated to have shown up to express their anger over water charges.

Kenny was in the area to announce the creation of 120 new jobs at Xanadu, a local technology company.

He was there along with Agriculture Minister and Cork South Central TD Simon Coveney and Europe Minister and Cork North-Central deputy Dara Murphy.

While the Taoiseach was jeered and verbally abused upon arrival there were no reports of violence or any arrests by gardaí.
