Man in hospital with serious head injuries following overnight crash in Enniskillen

A 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of motoring offences

POLICE IN ENNISKILLEN are appealing for witnesses to an incident in the Queens Street area of Enniskillen during the early hours of this morning.

Shortly before 1:55am a blue Ford Focus was involved in a collision at the Johnston Bridge roundabout. The vehicle had failed to stop for police a short time before the collision.

Injuries

It is believed that six people were in the car at the time of the incident. A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

Two other men, aged 28 years old and 27 years old and two females aged 42 years old and 22 years old, were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

A 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of motoring offences and is currently in custody assisting police with their inquiries.

Inspector Rod Flood from Enniskillen Police Station appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who was travelling on the Cornagrade Road around the time to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.

The Johnson Bridge roundabout at the junction with the Cornagrade Road, Queen Elizabeth Road, Queens Street and Halls Lane remain closed to traffic. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and to seek alternative routes for their journey.
