Extensive damage to buses after fire at Rathcoole premises

The premises of the Dualway Coach Hire company is hit by a fire, which causes extensive damage to about 12 vehicles.

EXTENSIVE DAMAGE has been caused to the fleet of one of the country’s best known coach hire companies after a fire broke out at its Dublin premises this morning.

At least twelve buses have incurred major damage following the early-morning fire at the Dualway Coach Hire premises at Keatings Park on the Naas Road in Rathcoole, in Dublin’s western suburbs.

A number of units of Dublin Fire Brigade were called to the scene shortly after 5am, and three units remain at the scene.

A company spokesperson said the exact extent of the damage wasn’t yet known, but said that buses in its fleet were worth between €30,000 and €250,000 each.

The scene is to be sealed off pending technical examinations, which will hope to establish whether the fire may have been started deliberately.
