A Facebook glitch led to two strangers falling in love

“In a huge world full of awful sh*t, real love is capable of bringing strangers together in truly unimaginable ways.”

A MYSTERY GLITCH on Facebook led to two strangers meeting and falling in love.

Mashable reports how Schuler and Celeste Benson met in very unusual circumstances.

In 2009, Schuler Benson tried to log into Facebook on his phone when saw he was somehow logged into the account of a woman he had never met – you can see where this is going – called Celeste.

He lived in Arkansas and she lived in Colorado.

The two strangers exchanged private messages to try to figure out what the problem was. Finally, Celeste sent Schuler a friend request – which somehow fixed the problem.

Celeste told BuzzFeed News she planned to delete Schuler after a few weeks, but then noticed they had a similar sense of humour.

“By 2012 we were talking almost every day, via Facebook, but always platonically,” she said.

The following year she went to Arkansas to meet him.

“We decided the day after that I would move there to be with him,” Celeste said.

They got married in June and now live in South Carolina.

“Our time together has taught me that, in a huge world full of awful sh*t, real love is capable of bringing strangers together in truly unimaginable ways,” Schuler said.
