Farmer airlifted to hospital after accident involving cow

It is believed the man was stood on by the cow while working in a field on the farm.

A FARMER WAS airlifted to hospital after an accident involving a cow today.

The incident occurred on a farm in Oulart, County Wexford this morning.

It is believed the man was stood on by the cow while working in a field on the farm.

He sustained a broken leg and other less serious injuries. However, the location and nature of the injuries required the call out of the Air Corps Emergency Aeromedical Service.

The helicopter was dispatched from Custume Barracks in Athlone and carried the man to University Hospital Waterford, where he is being treated this evening.
