Farmer in Cavan dies after becoming trapped under machinery

The man in his 50s was working with bales of hay when he became trapped under farm machinery.

A MAN IN Cavan has died after a tragic farming accident yesterday evening.

The man, who is in his 50s, was found at the farm in Mount Nugent this morning and was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is understood that he was working with bales of hay at the time and was crushed by farm machinery.

A post mortem is due to take place on Monday and the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has confirmed that it is investigating the accident.
