Woman dies in motorcycle accident on Kildare motorway

A WOMAN HAS died in a motorcycle accident in Co Kildare.

The accident happened on the M9 motorway between junctions one and two southbound, near Newbridge, at around 8.30pm last night.

The woman, aged in her 40s, was the sole person involved in the single-vehicle accident in which her motorcycle collided with the motorway’s central divide.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was involved in the collision.

Gardaí are investigating the incident and are appealing for witnesses, while the road remains closed to facilitate a forensic examination.

Gardaí have asked that anyone who may have witnessed the collision contact them at Kildare on 045 527730, on the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or at any Garda station.
