Teenager killed and nun injured in tragic police chase

Two males who were also in the Jaguar and the driver of the VW Polo remain in hospital.

AN 18-YEAR-old man has been killed in a fatal road accident in Belfast.

Police confirmed the name of the deceased as Conal Daly from the Greater Belfast area.

The accident occurred between two cars, a Jaguar Sovereign and a Volkswagen Polo, on the Saintfield Road shortly after 9pm last night.

Daly is believed to have been a passenger in the Jaguar, which was being chased by police.

The female driver of the Volkswagen Polo, a 74-year-old woman, who is reportedly a nun, is believed to be in a critical condition.

The two males from the Jaguar Sovereign also remain in hospital. One of the males is also believed to be in a critical condition.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to this accident to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple.
