Fears for kidnapped Dublin man grow

Gardaí in Dublin have released the registration number of the car they believe was involved in the abduction.

GARDAÍ REMAIN VERY concerned about a man they believe was assaulted and kidnapped from East Wall in Dublin on Thursday afternoon.

This morning, investigating Gardaí have established the full registration number of the car involved in the alleged abduction. They have appealed for anyone who saw a black Volkswagen Golf with the number plate 05-D-88805 to contact the Store Street Garda Station.

However, they have warned the public that the car and its occupants should not be approached.

Witnesses to the incident, which happened on Russell Avenue at East Wall on Thursday at 4.45pm, described the car as a black, 4-door Volkswagen Golf with a spoiler on the rear, spoked wheels and tinted windows.

The Irish Independent reports today that the 29-year-old victim was beaten with an iron bar during the assault.

Gardaí at Store Street say they are “very concerned” for the man and are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the vehicle.

They are also appealing for anyone with any other information to contact the incident room on 01 666 8089 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
