Fine Gael TD Connaughton to retire at election

FINE GAEL TD for Galway East, Paul Connaughton, has announced he will be stepping down from politics at the next general election. The 66-year-old has represented the constituency since 1981 and served as a junior minister at the Department of Agriculture under Garret Fitzgerald’s government from 1982 to 1987.
