Four fire units are fighting a blaze in Bray town

There are no reports of any injuries.

A FIRE HAS broken out in Bray town this afternoon.

Four units of Wicklow Fire Brigade are now at the scene.

The fire broke out on Castle Street, an area just over the Dargle Bridge, close to the nearby Supervalu store.

It is believed the fire broke out behind a bicycle shop. A polish supermarket is located next to the store.

The Fire Brigade says the situation is still ongoing.

An ambulance was called to the scene on Castle Street but there are no reports of any injuries.

Commuters are being advised that there will be severe delays and motorists are being advised to avoid the street as it has been closed. Commuters may also face delays on their approach to the town from the N11.

Dublin Bus diversions are also in place.

The initial call at 5.30pm to the fire brigade reported that rubbish outside Four Star Pizza was on fire.

However, a local website has been asked to inform people that the shops next to the Everest centre – including Four Star Pizza – are not effected by the fire and its business as usual.

The smoke from the fire has spread as far as Killiney/Foxrock area:

Another fire on Bray Head also caused delays to the area, causing Dart line between Bray and Greystones to be closed. The line has since reopened:
