Fire in chip shop next to Sinn Féin offices in Dublin

A CHIP SHOP in Dublin has caught on fire and an emergency operation is currently underway. 

Dublin Fire Brigadewere alerted to the fire on Parnell Street at 7.35pm this evening.

Flames were seen coming from the basement of the building, where it is understood the cooking equipment is stored.

The building is next door to Sinn Féin’s Parnell Square offices and Dublin Fire Brigade has attempted to contact a keyholder.

There are also concerns about an apartment building next to the restaurant.

Some smoke has started to make its way into the building but is currently staying within its ventilation system.

Five units and two district officers are currently in attendance at the scene.
