Homes evacuated after early morning blaze in Galway

Two houses have been destroyed in the fire.

TWO HOMES IN a Galway city housing estate have been destroyed after a blaze broke out early this morning.

The houses in Tirellan Heights were quickly evacuated, and neighbours were also asked to leave their homes as firefighters responded.

Several fire units arrived at the scene at around 6am, along with Gardaí.

There were no reports of any injuries, a Garda spokesperson said.

The fire has now been extinguished.

An investigation will take place to determine the cause of the blaze.
