Gardaí investigating fire which threatened petrol station

No arrests have been made.

GARDAÍ IN NORTH Dublin are investigating a fire which may have been deliberately started near a petrol station.

The fire broke out at an abandoned premises in beside a petrol station in Portmarnock around 11.30pm.

Gardaí in Malahide are investigating the matter as a criminal damage case.

Nobody was injured in the incident as Dublin Fire Brigade managed to put the fire out before it could affect the petrol station. No arrests have been made.

Local sources say gangs of youths have been seen in the area all week, with a group spotted leaving the scene around the time of the fire.
