A TRUCK WENT on fire this evening near the Dublin Port Tunnel.

The fire broke out before 5.30pm as the truck was just outside the tunnel. It was able to stop near a bridge a short distance away from the tunnel entrance.

Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene and put out the blaze.

The driver was uninjured.

The tunnel was closed during the incident but has since reopened, though it is filtering into one lane.
