The man was working on a Spanish fishing vessel when he fell into the water.

Updated at 07:58am

A SEARCH IS continuing this morning for a fisherman who fell overboard off the coast of Kerry yesterday afternoon.

The man was on a Spanish-registered fishing vessel when he fell into the water.

The incident was first reported to the Spanish Coast Guard who contacted Irish authorities.

Crews from the Irish naval vessel the LÉ Aisling and a Spanish fishing vessel are looking for the man, who is believed to have fallen into the ocean near Valentia.

The Shannon-based coastguard helicopter has re-joined the search this morning after it had to leave the area last night due to poor visibility.
