Search resumes for man who fell into water while fishing

The man was fishing with a friend yesterday when he fell into the water.

SEARCHES ARE TO resume this morning for a man who went missing while out fishing with a friend.

The man fell into the water while he and a friend were fishing at Blackhead in Co Clare, near the lighthouse.

The man’s friend raised the alarm yesterday and a sea and air search was launched after the coast guard was informed at about 4.17pm. The gardaí were also informed of the incident.

Taking part in the search was the coastguard unit from Doolin, a rescue helicopter from Shannon and the Arann Island lifeboat.

The coastguard confirmed this morning that the search is expected to resume at about 10am today.
