Search resumes for fisherman missing off Howth coast

The 40-year-old man was last seen in the water yesterday evening. Fading light curtailed last night’s search.

THE SEARCH FOR a fisherman who went missing off the coast of Howth yesterday has resumed this morning.

Gardaí have this morning confirmed the resumption of the search for the 40-year-old man who was last seen in the water yesterday evening.

Local RNLI and Coast Guard crews along with the Rescue 116 helicopter were tasked to the scene at around 5.30pm yesterday.

After a search of the area lasting over two-and-a-half hours that yielded no trace of the person, a decision was made to stand the operation down for the night.

It has since resumed this morning.
