25-foot fishing vessel towed to safety in waters off Kinsale

The vessel got into trouble off Howe Strand, near the Old Head of Kinsale, earlier this afternoon.

A 25-FOOT FISHING vessel has been towed to safety after encountering difficulty in waters off Kinsale, Co Cork, this afternoon.

The vessel, which had one person on board, got into trouble off Howe Strand, near the Old Head of Kinsale, at about 1:20pm.

A seven-man team from Courtmacsherry RNLI was deployed on a lifeboat and was able to retrieve the stricken vessel.

Both vessels were back at Courtmacsherry Pier at around 2:15pm.
