A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy has died in a swimming pool at a hotel in Co Kerry.

Attempts were made to resuscitate the boy after he was found in the pool of the Gleneagle Hotel at 11am this morning, Newstalk reports.

Gardaí have confirmed he was transferred to Tralee General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The boy is reported to have been on holiday with his family.

The hotel has confirmed the incident and said that the pool was “fully supervised at the time of the accident with two qualified lifeguards and all the appropriate steps were taken.”
