GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING THE discovery of an item in a residential area in Clondalkin, south Dublin yesterday say it was not a foetus.

It was initially thought that the item was a foetus following the discovery of the remains in a bin in a housing estate in Clondalkin, in south Dublin.

It is believed the discovery was made by residents who alerted gardaí yesterday.

Investigators were not sure whether they were dealing with human or other remains.

This evening, a garda spokesperson told TheJournal.ie that the item was not a foetus. It is believed that it may be a sheep’s stomach.
