France passes pension reform bill

FRANCE’S PARLIAMENT HAS PASSED A controversial pension reform bill which were protested against nationwide earlier this month. Further demonstrations were held today outside parliament as votes were being cast, says the BBC. Sarkozy had said the protests would not deter him from pushing for the pension bill, which will raise the retirement age from 60 to 62.
