Lydia O'Byrne

This is Freddie, today he sniffed out his owner's stolen bicycle on his walk

Clever dog.

DON’T BE FOOLED by his cute face, this dog is a super detective.

Freddie was out on his walk this morning when he sniffed out his owner’s stolen bicycle from the hedges.

He usually does three laps of the park but the 3-year-old stopped after lap two today and started to pull towards a path that’s not on his usual track.

His owner, Lydia O’Byrne, said, “I gave him a little tug on the lead and expected him to skip along after me like he usually does, but he was adamant. So I followed him as he sniffed vigorously in the bushes.”

Freddie then found a bicycle that was stolen from Lydia’s car a few weeks ago.

It belongs to her brother Gavin.

‘I peered into the spot that he was sniffing and what did I see….Gavin’s bike.’

Lydia said, “Freddie was utterly delighted with himself, wagging his tail the whole way home! So proud of our detective dog.

Never underestimate the instinct of our furry friends, they are truly incredible. I’m astounded!

“All the treats for Freddie today. Hurray!”
