Funeral of Chada brothers to take place in Carlow

Eoghan and Ruairi Chada will be buried in their hometown of Ballinkillen in Carlow this afternoon. Their father Sanjeev was charged with their murders last night.

THE FUNERAL OF the two Chada brothers whose bodies were discovered in a crashed car on Monday will take place in their hometown in Carlow today.

The brothers will be removed from their family home in Ballinkillen at 1pm to the nearby St Lazarian’s Church where the local parish priest will lead the service. They will be buried in the adjoining cemetery.

The family has requested that their home be strictly private this morning.

A death notice for the two boys spoke of their’ “heartbroken parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives, school & sports friends and neighbours.”

Sanjeev Chada, the father of the two boys, appeared in court in Mayo last night charged with their murders.

The 43-year-old had been held at Westport Garda Station for questioning after he was released from hospital where he was being treated for injuries sustained in the car crash. He was charged just before 8pm last night.

He will appear before Harristown District Court at 11 o’clock this morning.
