Construction workers are beginning to erect a stage on College Green ahead of Monday’s public rally at which the president of the United States will speak.

PREPARATIONS FOR THE public rally being held by US president Barack Obama on Monday have been getting underway in Dublin today with the stage from which he will speak being erected.

The main stage will be outside the Bank of Ireland on College Green with gardaí sealing off Dame Street and putting other restrictions in place as constructions workers assemble the area where the event will take place.

Already stars such Westlife and Jedward have been more-or-less confirmed for Monday’s event to provide pre-Obama entertainment before the president takes to the stage in the early evening.
