Galway celebrate their victory in Croke Park. Cathal Noonan/INPHO

Here are the plans if you're celebrating tonight with the Galway hurlers

The county’s senior and minor hurlers won All-Ireland titles yesterday.

GALWAY IS PREPARING for the homecoming of its victorious hurling stars later today after yesterday’s wins in two All-Ireland finals.

It’s the first time the Tribesman have claimed senior hurling glory since 1988 and there are two big engagements for the team planned for today.

Galway’s seniors beat Waterford to claim the Liam McCarthy Cup while the county’s minors also won their match against Cork.

The senior team is travelling from their Dublin base in Citywest Hotel to Ballinasloe where they’ll be greeted by supporters at Fair Green at 3pm.

After those celebrations with fans in the east of the county, the team bus will continue on towards Galway City where the main civic reception will take place in Pearse Stadium, Salthill.

That reception is due to begin at 6pm and Galway City Council have said that gates to the stadium will open from 4.30pm.

Extra buses on Bus Éireann’s 401 route from the city have been laid on for the celebrations to allow fans make it out to the stadium.
