Man dies after being pulled from water off Galway coast yesterday evening

He was pronounced dead around an hour after arriving at University Hospital Galway.

A MAN HAS died after being pulled from the water off the Galway coast yesterday evening.

The fisherman was taken to University Hospital Galway at 6.30pm, where his condition was described as critical.

He was pronounced dead at around 7.40pm.

The alarm had been raised after a small fishing vessel was found running, but empty, on a lobster pot near Tawin Island off Salthill.
