The individual is due to appear in court.

GARDAI HAVE ARRESTED a person driving at 140 km/ph while smoking a joint.

They were nabbed after being spotted passing an unmarked police car on the M50 near Blanchardstown in Dublin.

The vehicle was stopped and the drugs in the car seized.

After being taken to the station the arrested individual was required to provide a blood sample.

Gardaí have tweeted that they are set to appear in court.

In December the cabinet approved a new road traffic bill to tighten the laws on drug driving.
