Female garda seriously injured after teens rammed patrol car

Two teens have been arrested and the garda is currently awaiting surgery at Beaumont Hospital.

TWO TEENS HAVE been arrested in connection with an incident in which a garda car was rammed in a Dublin housing estate, injuring a female garda.

At 3.25 this morning gardaí in Swords, responded to a report of a car acting suspiciously in the Cian Lea estate. When they arrived, they observed a white Nissan Micra fitting the description.

The Micra drove at the garda car, ramming it and injuring a garda. The female officer, aged in her 20s, sustained a serious head wound and was taken to Beaumont Hospital where she is currently awaiting surgery.

The car was later recovered near Talbot Hall by gardaí responding to burglaries.

Following a search of the immediate area by garda units, two males in their late teens were arrested and taken to Coolock Garda Station where they are currently detained.
