These wads of cash were found hidden in a car by organised crime gardaí

The money amounts to about €200,000.

SPECIALIST GARDAÍ TARGETING organised crime gangs seized €200,000 after stopping a car in west Dublin yesterday afternoon.

The operation was carried out by An Garda Síochána’s Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and was assisted by the newly formed special task force set up to target feuding gangs.

Gardaí say that a car was stopped and searched in the Fonthill Road area of Dublin 22 at about 1pm yesterday afternoon.

Wads of cash were found concealed in the vehicle with gardaí saying they amounts to about €200,000.

A 39-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was then taken to Ronanstown Garda Station.

He was since released from custody with gardaí saying that a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
