Gardaí stop driver for wearing no seatbelt, find fake tax and insurance discs

It’s been a busy day for gardaí checking for valid tax and insurance.

IT’S BEEN A busy day for gardaí checking for valid tax and insurance, with a number of vehicles being seized.

Gardaí in Waterford this afternoon stopped a driver for driving with no seatbelt.

Gardaí then discovered that the car had fake tax and insurance discs displayed.

The vehicle was seized and a court appearance for the driver is to follow.

Meanwhile, a van with no proper tax or insurance or certificate of road worthiness was seized by the garda commercial vehicle unit.

The van was blocking the entrance to a créche when it was seized.

In a third incident a vehicle was seized in Bray as part of Operation Thor when it was found to have no tax or NCT.
