'I'm late, I'm late': Gardaí catch car speeding at 121 kph in 50 kilometre zone

Officers are warning drivers to slow down.

GARDAÍ HAVE BEEN clamping down on speeding vehicles this weekend after coming across a number of drivers breaking the limits.

One driver was caught doing 121 kilometres per hour in a 50 kilometre zone in Galway on Saturday night. Officers also described the road conditions at the time as wet.

Other drivers speeding were spotted in Dublin over the weekend with ‘several’ travelling at 50% over the limit.

While detecting speed on the M6, gardaí said that four out of five drivers caught speeding used the excuse that they were late.

Officers warned that if the motorists did not pay their fixed charge penalty notice on time, they would end up in court.
