Gardaí investigating after 36-year-old man found dead

The man was found in a rented house in Cork.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING following the discovery of a man’s body in Cork.

A 36-year-old man, named locally as Peter Murphy, was found with injuries in a rented house at Shanavoher near Mallow on Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s body was removed to Cork University Hospital where the assistant State Pathologist carried out a post mortem yesterday.

Garda forensic teams are examining the house and gardaí are attempting to trace the man’s last movements.

They are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard from him between Thursday and Saturday to contact Mallow Garda Station on 022 31450.
