Garda operation targeting people using mobile phones while driving

Operation Mobile Phone will continue today.

GARDAÍ WILL CONTINUE to carry out Operation Mobile Phone today after a number of people were found using their mobiles while driving on the first day of the operation yesterday.

Officers tweeted out this photo after a lorry driver was caught texting while in traffic in Cork.

Meanwhile – some 30 drivers were stopped for holding their phones while driving in Mayorstone, Limerick yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí will continue with the operation today.
