Pics: Gardaí get rolling on their new Segways

There’s nowhere to hide now…

TWO MEMBERS OF An Garda Siochana looked non-plussed as they were today presented with two Segways from the Dublin City Business Association.

The battery-powered machines are designed to improve the force’s mobility around the city centre as well as improve their visibility on the streets.

There is little doubt that you won’t be hard-pressed to spot these guys whizzing around the streets of Dublin on the machines. But they don’t look too pleased by the prospect of having to do it:

But they soon cheered up once they got to take their two wheels along Grafton Street:

The Segways were presented by the DCBA on Grafton Street today as part of a pilot scheme. If successful it may lead to a wider rollout of the machines in future.
